WEEKLY DEVOTIONAL

In a letter written to the Worship Team in my church, concerning a special service we have been planning for some time, I wrote:

“I realize that maybe no-one will come to the alters and that this could potentially fall on deaf ears Sunday but everything inside me says to call our church to prayer. A house built by man will not stand but that built by God cannot be torn down. I am asking the both of you to EARNESTLY pray for God's power to be unleashed this Sunday. Not so that we have great alter calls but so that our people will pray like they have never prayed before. I cannot continue in my own strength and wisdom, I need God and the only way I am going to get his power is through supplication, prayer, and fasting. I can have my dream or I can have my comfort but I cannot have them both. I want my dream! I want God to take hold of me and this church. I want him to be worshipped and glorified through our sincere heartfelt prayer life. I want the church people to see God the way he wants to be seen. I want His power to be unleashed into our lives, our jobs, our families, our hearts, our church and I know according to scripture this will only occur when we pray. “If my people…will humble themselves and pray…” God teach us to pray! Bind our hearts to yours through sweet fellowship. –Amen”

This is the heart of every pastor, parent and friend, that God could have his way with us.

God’s blessings and good flying to all!
