Member Spotlight: Jack Sheeks

Congratulations! Jack Sheeks was inducted into the AMA Hall of Fame, which was held at the FCM Championship in August 2002. Jack's illustrious career as a modeler started at age eight and continues at age sixty-nine. Jack represented the USA six times on the FAI team. He has published 60 planned aircraft and has numerous national wins in stunt, old-time stunt and precision scale. In 1998 Jack received the Pioneer award from the AMA. Jack's love of modeling lead him to open a hobby shop. The Sportliners Controline Club, which Jack helped to organize, met in that shop. Jack served in the Navy during the Korean War. After several other interesting positions he became a Lt. on the Indianapolis, Indiana police force. Jack retired from the force in 1979. Jack's beautiful wife Shirley is often on the field supporting Jack in his modeling endeavors. They make a great team. The Sheeks have seven children and sixteen grandchildren. Jack and Shirley are active in their local church and Jack sings in the choir. Jack is an FCM member and a credit to the modeling community.
