WEEKLY DEVOTIONAL

The apostles saw the intimate connection between the power of Jesus and his prayers, so naturally they asked him to teach them to pray. Jesus readily did this and made it clear to them that prayer was an indispensable part of the believer’s life. IT STILL IS! We must never lose sight of the importance of prayer. It is in prayer that we learn how to line up our priorities with God’s. It is as we learn to pray “in Jesus’ name” (i.e. according to His will and priorities), that we will see dramatic results.

There are so many things for us to be in prayer about these days. The bible lists countless things that need to be the focus of our prayers, beginning with the priorities that Jesus outlines in his own prayer in John 17. We need to pray for each other. We need to pray for God’s wisdom in our lives, His direction in our careers and ministries. We need to pray for our families and homes. I believe nothing significant will ever be accomplished in our lives if we do not pray as we obey. I want to urge you as Paul urges his readers to make prayer a priority in your everyday life.

God’s blessings and good flying to all!
